It’s summer, so whether it’s the sun or the rain outside, the party is about to begin. Guests at the party are looking forward to the food, the fun, and the one thing that only happens when you drink.

You can stick to the traditional gin and tonic, and if you do, why not garnish it with the pink grapefruit peel and gin mentioned above? Or, if you like something different, why not try these gin cocktails?

1. The Vegetable Patch Copa by Jake Burger

50ml Portobello Road Gin

200ml tonic water

25ml carrot juice made from around 8 baby carrots

Basil sprig

Juniper berries for garnishing

Glassful of ice

Place the ice into a large red wine glass.

Take the baby carrots and extract the juice using a juicer.

 

2. CocoLime Fizz by Ms Master Mix

60ml Bombay East Gin

15ml fresh lime juice

15ml coconut water

1 egg white

15ml heavy whipping cream

23ml Lemongrass Simple Syrup

Ice

Club soda, chilled

 

3. Cherry Gin Daisy by Natalie Migliarini

60ml S.D. Strong Pillar 136 Gin

3 cherries, pitted

1/2 lemon, juiced

1 teaspoon of agave nectar

1 teaspoon of Liber and Co. Grenadine

1 cup of ice

 

4. The English Garden Copa by Jake Burger

50ml Portobello Road Gin

200ml tonic water

25ml radish and red chicory juice made from around 10 radishes and 4 leaves of red chicory

1 radish cut into thin slices

Rosemary sprig

Lavender sprig

Glassful of ice

 

5. Pomegranate Martini by Kathrine Larsen

30ml gin

15ml Cointreau

80ml Appletiser Apple and Pomegranate

Fill a cocktail shaker half way with ice cubes.

Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for 10 seconds.

Strain the contents into a chilled martini glass.

Garnish with a spoonful of pomegranate seeds.

 

6. Wallinger by Ladies And Gentlemen

50ml Highwayman gin

25ml lemon juice

15ml clementine syrup

10ml Demerara syrup

1 dash old fashioned bitters

10ml green chartreuse

Peychauds garnish

Shake and serve in a wine glass with a slice of blood orange.

 

7. The Good Life Copa by Jake Burger

50ml Portobello Road Gin

200ml high mineral content sparkling water

Pinch grape seed extract

Teaspoon of powdered dextrose

A couple of frozen gooseberries

Pomegranate pieces

A large twist of your choice of citrus

Rose petals

Glassful of ice

Place the ice into a large red wine glass.

Stir the dextrose, the grapes extract and the gin to create a smooth paste.

 

8. Garden Martini

45ml Pincer Vodka

25ml Crossbill Gin

15ml lime juice

Dash elderflower cordial (very important to get the balance correct, if the Martini is too sour, add some more)

1/2 rosemary sprig

5 basil leaves

2 lime wedges

Muddle lime, basil and rosemary.

Add vodka and gin, elderflower cordial and lime juice.

Shake and double strain into chilled martini glass. Garnish with bay leaf.
